Gary Borgendale

Gary Borgendale is a Christian spiritual, business, and governmental leader in Minnesota with more than 20 years of experience. Above all, he is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and serves as an ordained Civilian Chaplain with the IMF.
Gary has been joyfully married to Laurie since 1978. Together, they are blessed with four adult children and 13 grandchildren.
His ministry journey began as a grassroots leader for Minnesota for Marriage, an initiative led by State Senator Michele Bachmann to define marriage as between one man and one woman in the Minnesota Constitution. He has continued to support candidates and issues that uphold a biblical worldview.
For 16 years, Gary served as Local Ministry Director with Salem Media (AM980), where he connected with and prayed for pastors across what he calls the four streams of Christendom: Messianic Judaism, Orthodox Christianity, Catholicism, and Protestantism. Jesus’ prayer for unity in John 17 is deeply personal to him.
Gary later joined Shine in the World Ministries and its Merge Twin Cities initiative, dedicated to bringing the gospel to both local communities and the nations. His heart’s passion is revival, reformation, and transforming Minnesota through the power of Jesus Christ.
Beyond these efforts, Gary facilitates a weekly Mayors Christian Fellowship, helping civic leaders explore Christian principles and apply them in their leadership roles. He has also served for more than 20 years with the National Day of Prayer at the Minnesota State Capitol. Additionally, he co-leads Kingdom Alignment, an apostolic ministry devoted to identifying, affirming, mentoring, and releasing apostolic leaders.
